In April 2025, to closely understand the grassroots reality, Waterways administered a survey on the outskirts of Delhi-NCR, closely working with the Dream Future Foundation. The survey collated inputs geared towards understanding the needs of peri-urban communities across three themes: access to resources (clean water, food, air, and medical care), attributes of the nearest water sources (accessibility, reliability, safety, and toxicity), and awareness of water conservation techniques. The survey yielded over 15 responses, offering a comprehensive idea of what demanded our immediate attention, serving as an effective tool to prioritise Waterways’s upcoming interventions.
Between March and April 2025, we also partnered with Dream Future to facilitate a series of workshop sessions with twenty-five individuals at the NGO’s premises in Delhi NCR. The sessions were focused on two major goals, drawing from the trends visible in the WaterWays Survey and Guide: mitigating issues of water scarcity and ensuring enhanced accessibility to clean water sources.
We collaborated with the CSR wing of CNB Finwiz, a Delhi-based financial services company, to expand our initiative to the grassroots level by raising funds to purchase water conservation equipment. We successfully donated INR 1,00,000 to our partner, Dream Future, which facilitated the distribution of this equipment to farmers in the National Capital Territory.
Finally, using the funds collected from the WaterWays Makes Fundraiser, we donated low-flow filters and rainwater harvesting units to local communities supported by Dream Future, taking the first step to ensure the coming year’s water scarcity can be tackled with ample preparation.
